Come to our VBCOOL 09 – Resume and Interview Workshop on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9:30am – 3:00pm at MIT Building 56 (Whitaker), Room 114.

We are honored and delighted to have Bill Queenan, Vice President/ Human Resources Business Partner at State Street to share his experience and tips about resume and cover letter. Bill is also recruiting for State Street, so this would be a great opportunity to networking and get hired. Also, we also invite Katie Chisholm, a Senior Staffing Specialist at Professional Staffing Group in Boston to share her experience about interviews and networking tips.

Besides workshops, we also invite experienced professionals in Boston area to help you edit your resume. They are Haili Muse, currently working at Barclays in the Investment Banking division, and Andrew Solow, a consultant at Accenture, and others.

So bring your resume, cover letter, and practice some interviews with professionals, and enjoy a great opportunity to expand your networks.

Your resumes would be collected into a booklet and sent to Bill Queenan for his consideration of the opening positions at State Street.

Speaker 1: Bill Queenan

Bill Queenan

 

 

 

Bill Queenan is currently a Vice President/ Human Resources Business Partner at State Street.  He manages of team that supports State Street’s Investment Services Americas division.   This is one of StateStreet’s core businesses with over 5,000 employees servicing the Company’s mutual fund customers.   Prior to State Street he was most recently at Argo Group where as Director of Human Resources he managed the HR support of Argo’s Commercial Specialty Division. Prior to Argo, Bill was with OneBeacon Insurance for 15 years. He has deep experience in all aspects of human resources with particular emphasis on HR Business Consulting and Talent Management. He holds a BS from Babson College and an MBA from Suffolk University.

Speaker 2: Katie Chisholm

Katie Chisholm is a Senior Staffing Specialist at Professional Staffing Group in Boston, MA.  In her role, Katie focuses on placing investment professionals in the business of asset management.  She has 10 years of retail management and recruiting as well as her MBA, focusing in Human Resources.

Andrew is currently a consultant at Accenture, within their Finance & Risk – Financial Risk Management practice, leading a team supporting a major institutional asset manager’s fixed income desk. He has broad experience within the capital markets industry having worked within asset management, investment banking, and regulatory bodies in a variety of roles from technology-oriented positions to legal research. His current focus is on providing fixed income risk analytics and performance/attribution within the asset management space. Andrew is also an attorney licensed in Massachusetts, having graduated from Boston College with a J.D. and Boston University with a B.S. in computer systems engineering. He volunteers his time as a trustee for non-profit law school journal fund and enjoys competitive, amateur weight-lifting.

Lisa Yang

As a research associate in Global Industry Research at Wellington Management, Lisa currently specializes in European and Latin American telecommunication companies as part of the Technology and Telecommunications Team.
